November 2011

Ok, I admit, this sketch scared me! And it came in the month that I take the fewest pictures. I don't know why but I don't take many pictures in November so when I saw the sketch I actually, said, "Oh, my!" Out loud. My hubby asked what was wrong and I just said, "Nothing just scrapbooking." LOL!

So I put off tackling it for quite a while and then I reallt wanted to get it done before the end of the month so I got busy. I also checked out some of the pages already linked up and one lady had a big old photo on one side and suddenly, it was all ok, I knew how to do the page. So i used the picture of my kiddos and my cousin's daughter when we visited the state capitol last month. Not the greatest picture but I wanted to get the gold on the top and the kids and dang, if those kids aren't short! I was laying on the ground for the shot. Very pretty as you can imagine!

Anyway, after that I choose two other more momentous moments to be 4x6 - Remi getting his braces on and the kids and I taking my mom cupcakes on her birthday - 11/11/11 at 11:11am.

Then I filled the page with the random other pictures from the month. There were programs for both Peyton and Coltson, Remi studying as always, hubby's birthday, Thanksgiving, some school activities for Peyton, Colston on the iPad and a great picture of hubby, Remi and I that Colston took.

Lifestyle Crafts Give Away

I have been a fan of Lifestyle Crafts (formerly Quickutz) for a long time. I was sad when I thought they were going away and was so pleased to see they came back with a different name. They have a contest going on right now on their blog.

October Project 12

I have been getting photos organized and printed and all. So I went ahead and got my Project 12 done too.

This month was Peyton's birthday Colston playing T-Ball, a weekend in the mountains, my new iPad, and lots of different Halloween prep and activities.

September Project 12

Finally got my September page done. Our September was my brother's Harvest dinner, Colston's T-Ball games, Jock and Remi attending a Pheasant Forever kid's hunt (you hunt the birds not the kidsWink), that same day Peyton and Coltson and I went to our last Rockies game of the year (the picture is my dad and I - not a great picture but I thought it would be nice for me to appear in a Project 12 page for once), Peyton Field Day at school, and Colston and Charlotte enjoying a few mornings at our pool early in the month when the weather was still nice so the pool was open but all the big kids were all in school so it was like our own private pool.

Project 12 - August

Finally got my August page done for Project 12. I included pictures of the kid cousins at the Wainwright's 50th anniversary, Remi's baseball finishing up, first day of school for Remi and Peyton, and an incredibly hot day at the Rockies game that went on for 5+ hours and 13 innings but they won and we had a great day!!

August was so hot here. We had a record number of days in a row over 90 degrees. In other parts of the US they have been over 100 so I should not complain but it was hot. So, I decided to use my new Studio Calico kit and pick the "hot" papers out of it for this page. I cut the "fun in the sun" sun on my Silhouette along with the month and the flourishes which I hoped looked like heat waves. ;)

LOAD Day 9 - Halloween Day

Today's prompt was to use the scraps on your desk. This worked out great because it allowed me to get one more page for my book club next week done. I took photos from all the things we did on Halloween Day last year and made the page.

LOAD Day 7 & 8

Busy day yesterday and I didn't get the LOAD for yesterday posted. The prompt was to go back in time to the scrapbooking trends in 1997. Well, I just couldn't do that. And I had some Silly Bandz that Peyton had that were baseball themed and I "borrowed" a few of them to put on a page. I decided to do that page before she reclaimed her Silly Bandz.

I also skipped today's LOAD prompt. I have my LSS book club next week and need to get the pages made for that so I decided to use the paper from that for today's page. It is MM Halloween line. I looked in my oldest photos binder to find some olllldddd Halloween photos. These are the last of the Halloween photos in that binder. Remi's Halloween party at school in 1st grade. He dressed as Yu-Gi-Oh.

Oh, so I have never posted two photos in one entry so I don't know how to arrange them correctly, but I am sure you can figure out which is the baseball layout and which is the Halloween layout. ;)

LOAD Day 6 - I Read

Today's prompt was to use a self portrait. I have been wanting to do a layout about my love of reading so I did that today. I am on Goodreads and it has a tracker for how many books you have read in the year (I have read 43) and you can convert that to how many pages I was shocked to see I have read 16, 699 pages this year. WOW!). I listed the 43 books I have read since January but the number of stars I gave to book on Goodreads.

Supplies:
paper, flower sticker and journaling sticker - Bella Blvd (their new sports line believe it or not)
Books and loopy border - cut on the Silhouette
Title letters - Jillybean

LOAD Day 5 - Peyton at Happy Apple Farm

Today's prompt was to think about the things you usually do on a page - your "rules" for scrapbooking if you will. And then break the rules you set for yourself. I thought about what things I usually do when scrapbooking and then thought about what I could do differently. I used old product - I usually don't seem to go back into the old stuff preferring my newer goodies. I almost always scrap 12x12 so I made this 8 1/2 x 11. I most often stick with one manufacturer on a page because then I know it will all look nice together. So here I mixed a few manufacturers for the papers and embellishments. I NEVER cut photos into shapes so I cut a photo of apples into an oval. It is very rare for me not to journal on a page so I just put the most basic info on this. And finally, I double matted the photo and I usually don't mat photos at all.

The page is a scraplift from Scrapbook Trends Embellish Idea book. The original page on page 82 was by Christa Paustenbaugh.

LOAD Day 4 - Happy Halloween

This was kinda hard - just the basics. The prompt was just use the most basic supplies that you can. This feels pretty plain to me! There is a hand drawn black line that goes around the outside that got kind of cut off. And that does add something to the page, I think. But I decided before starting that I should be able to use photos, a title, journaling, patterned paper and just a few embellishments. So that is what I stuck with.

The paper is Making Memories, the chipboard embellishments are KI, tite cut on Silhouette.

LOAD 3 - Happy 5th Birthday

Today's prompt was to use pictures that you have had laying out to be scrapped. As soon as I read that I knew these were the photos. They were out with the paper from a few weeks/months ago so it is nice to have them scrapped. This is certainly no masterpiece of a layout but they are done.

LOAD Day 2 - Sugga's

Today's prompt was about laughter. When I thought about that I knew it had to be a page about hanging out with my aunts. They have such wonderful senses of humor!! We like to go to Sugga's and after a large amount of testing I have finally found a drink I like there - a lychee berry martini.

LOAD Day 1 - You Rock

The prompt for day 1 was to scrapbook a goal. Remi has always had the goal of getting his black belt in karate and even going beyond to an adult black belt. These are pictures from one of the tests for a step on his black belt, working toward a red and black belt.

Ballet Recital

I wanted to do something to enter in a Lifestyle Crafts contest. I love their dies and have lots that I use on a regular basis. When I was thinking about what to make I thought about a card or some home decor project or some sort of other project, but then I came back to the fact that I am a scrapbooker. That is what I do best and that is what I love. And that is why and what I love Lifestyle Crafts dies for. So I needed to do a scrapbook page for the contest.

I decided to pull out some pictures from Peyton's ballet recital last year. I used a mix of some My Mind's Eye papers, Karen Foster ballet rub ons, and some other embellishments from a Studio Calico kit. As far as Lifestyle Crafts dies I used: Lace Scallop, Nesting Frame 4, and the Wildflower Gift Set (title font and flower branch cut from vellum).

July 2011

Here is my July Project 12 page. Pictures of swim lessons, visiting the zoo with Janelle, a Sky Sox baseball game with family friends, Peyton and her cousin at Eliches, Remi playing baseball, Remi and Jock's trip to Montana to fish, and the US Women's Open.

I pieced together this page using what was left of a 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey that I had made a mini album with. On the left edge it is hard to see but I cut a days of the week border, misted it brown and then cut a plant border thing from vellum and laid it over the days of the week. Oh, and of course, I had to use a little twine so I tied a few bows of twine on the plant border. Just something a little different because I thought the open space was just a little too much. The title and label things were also cut with my Silhouette.

June 2011 - Project 12

Well, Peyton just walked in the door from a few days with Grammy and Jock and Remi are on the plane home right now. So the scrapping is going to slow down. But with this layout and for this moment I am caught up on all my classes I am doing right now. And I did 11 pages in the time the boys were gone. Nice! Wink

I usually use my book club paper for the Project 12 layout each month but this month was just a bunch of brown paper and I just could not make it work! So, as I was cleaning and organizing as assigned in Lain's Mother LOAD class, I found these scraps from some Cosmo Cricket paper. And they were perfect and would work for the layout assignment from her! Yeah!

The pictures are Remi's 13th birthday, the boys and I at a Rockies game, Peyton in her tap outfit for her recital, Remi and Jock and their Little League championship team, and the first day at the pool.

May 2011

Here is my project 12 layout for May.

We had some big events this month with end of the school year awards, our 20th anniversary, and a nephew that graduated from high school and another one from college.

Oh, and after five months of doing this I remembered this OLD Creative Memories cutting thing that I had to cut the edges in a wave. It worked perfectly! It sort of hang on the mat and then you use the colored circle blades that go with the circle cutter to cut the waves! Perfect!

Here is my Project 12 April layout. A birthday celebration of Colston, lots of baseball, lots of sick time, some Easter, end of the school year fun and potty training.

March 2011 - Project 12 Layout

Here is my March 2011 Project 12 page. I used the Echo Park Springtime line. It seems a little plain this month, but I am just done with it.

Pictures are from the International Wildlife Museum in Tucson, Jessica, Deb and another friend and I at our scrapbook retreat, a horrible picture of Colston holding his three fingers up on his third bday, Peyton at her first day of baseball practice, and Remi getting his cast off.

January 2011

I have to say that as I was putting away the Project 12 layouts from last year I LOVED looking at them all in a row. I can see this is going to become on of my favorite albums to look at. I had a hard time deciding, since I am doing Project Life this year and taking and documenting a photo a day is it overkill to do this too? Probably, but I committed to Project Life with friends and family and honestly, for me, I can't give up Project 12. So, I guess I'll do both even though it is a bit overboard.

So, here is January. Pictures from a MESA bridge break that Remi did. Peyton with her cousins at Sip and Sew. Colston at the Colorado Rockies Fan Fest day. Remi working on jumping rope in the double dutch rope trying to make the requirements for JV. Peyton at Dance Sports Challenge. And my sweet Colston walking in the snow.

Project 12 - December 2010

I have really liked doing the Procet 12 this year! I love looking at 2 pages and getting an idea of what we did in a month. So much so that even though I am doing Picture a Day this year, I think I am going to continue with this too!!
